- STIHL M-Tronic – Fully electronic engine management for optimum performance in all conditions. No more manual adjustment necessary. The winch is always ready for use.
- STIHL ErgoStart – For effortless starting with minimal effort (a light pull is enough).
- STIHL Kompensator – Constant engine performance. More efficiency, less maintenance.

Operation
The EDER – Winch 400 S is controlled from outside the danger zone. By pulling lightly on the rope, the throttle trigger of the control unit is moved and the winch starts to pull.
Rope brake
Maximum safety thanks to the rope brake! As soon as the operator releases the rope, the winch stops and the rope is clamped in the brake. This prevents the load from slipping back unintentionally. The brake can, however, be released on purpose.
